In order to solve the deformation problem of Liquidambar formosana wood as solid wood products, it is very essential for Liquidambar formosana wood to be modified so as to increase its dimensional stability. In the study, polyethylene glycol is used to modify Liquidambar formosana wood to increase dimensional stability.Generally speaking, under the conditions of PEG concentration to 8%, soaking time 12 hours and heating temperature of 60℃, we can obtain satisfactory results.
