The efficient enzymatic deconstruction of plant biomass polysaccharides remains a major bottleneck in lignocellulose industrial conversion. In this study, the lignocellulolytic system of Aspergillus fumigatus XC6 and its response to various biomass substrates were explored by genomic and secretomic analyses. The genome of this strain contains 658 genes encoding carbohydrate-active enzymes, with 17 gene families in typical lignocellulolytic enzymes undergoing a significant expansion without contraction.
