We identified six gall wasp species and 10 parasitoid species in galls from Castanopsis tibetana, Quercus glauca, Quercus fabri, and Quercus variabilis in the four locations (Table 2). The gall wasps Dryocosmus liui, Plagiotrochus glaucus, and Cerroneuroterus sp. did not share the same plant hosts, but Cynips sp. and Andricus sp. were found in galls in different parts of the same plant host species Quercus fabri Hance. Wolbachia are endosymbiotic bacteria that are widely present in nematodes and arthropods and sometimes have a significant impact on the evolution, ecology, and biology of their hosts. The co-occurrence of Wolbachia within both Cynipid gall wasps and their parasitoids has rarely been studied. In this study, we report the occurrence of six species of gall wasps and 10 species of their parasitoids in central China.
