培育强盛的民族精神，实现文化自信是当代中国在实现中华民族伟大复兴事业中面临的重大历史任务。要实现这一历史任务，首先应当“不忘本来”[1]，以中华优秀传统文化为主要内容，充实国人的精神世界，塑造国人的行为规范。湖湘音乐文化作为中华优秀传统文化的重要内容，是湖湘儿女天然的精神食粮，有着极其广泛的民生及社会基础。以其为依托对湖南境内高校学生开展德育，不仅能较好地促进学生的文化认同，实现文化自信，还能升华、反哺湖湘文化，为湖湘文化的提升、传承提供系统性的支持。
