The source of contributions to technical journals is imbalanced. Some journals receive enough contributions, others inadequate materials. The general situation with which editors are faced is that the contributed materials are declined in both quantity and quality. The percentage of acceptance is found to be an index of contribution sources, which expresses characteristics and patterns of change in contribution sources of each journal.
