To date, existing research on the distributed flexible job shop scheduling problem typically overlooks the insertion of rush orders, i.e., it is assumed that once an order starts processing, other jobs cannot be inserted. However, in actual production, with the increasing demand for multiple varieties, small batches, and personalization, order insertion has become very common.
