On the basis of a series of laboratory tests on Nanning unsaturated remodelled expansive soil using stress-controlled direct shear instrument, the paper discusses non-linear rheological characteristics of the expansive soil. The results show attenuation creep for the soil under the stress level below 25.5kPa; while obvious non-linear accelerating creeps are measured under the stress level over 25.5kPa.
