Triterpene acids are among the major bioactive constituents of Ganoderma lucidum. However, submerged fermentation techniques for isolating triterpene acids from G. lucidum have not been optimized for commercial use, and the antitumor activity of the mycelial triterpene acids needs to be further proven.
