Tenthredomaculipennis group is proposed. Tenthredo transversa Wei et Shang, sp. nov., a new species of maculipennis group of Tenthredo from China is described. The characters of T. maculipennis group and the distribution of the group is briefly discussed. A key to species of T. maculipennis group is also provided.
