A multifunctional material can be used to protect and monitor the degraded concrete infrastructure, providing a self-sensing capacity that is designed to specifically diagnose cracking. Strain-hardening cementitious composites (SHCC) presents superb tensile ductility and pseudo strain-hardening property.
