在大材料学科理念的指导下，根据我校建设高水平特色大学的要求和国家林业科技大学的战略需求以及市场对人才的需求，学校应突出林业特色，构建具有鲜明林业高校特色的高分子材料科学与工程专业课程教学新体系和以自主科研为导向的创新人才培养模式，建立创新开放性实验平台，建设专业特色实践教学体系，加强师资队伍建设。培养具有高素质的创新人才。
