Tung tree (Vernicia fordii Hemsl.) is a potential commercial source of biodiesel which is widely planted in China and many other countries. Investigation of the regulatory mechanism of lipid biosynthesis is an essential prerequisite to improve tung tree varieties by genetic engineering.
