元代陶瓷成为重要的器皿材料是有其历史原因的,通过与宋代陶瓷器皿、异域器皿和不同材料器皿的比较与分析来论述元代陶瓷器皿在功能与装饰上的美学特征,进而指出造物艺术的发展受制于政治、经济、民族、文化和生活方式等诸多因素的影响。透过陶瓷器皿设计,可在某种程度上折射出一个时代的特征,印证了设计艺术承前启后的发展。
