The impact of nitrogen application on the floral development and fruit growth of thejujube tree(Ziziphus jujuba)was studied. Results showed that the nitrogen content in eachorgan varied markedly with the season. Although applying nitrogen to the tree did not affectthis pattern of variation,it did add to the nitrogen content in the organs in any stage ofdevelopment and growth. The nitrogen content of the leaf during the bud stage and the fullbloom stage greatly influenced the flower quantity and quality.
