林业发展重要的是对林业概念的开发,特别是对"现代林业"概念的开发。世界林业经历了古典林业、经典林业发展到现代林业,是有时代背景的。20世纪中叶,系统科学与生态科学的迅猛发展,对现代林业的发展产生了巨大的影响。集中表现在:提出了一种系统思考,运用多学科、跨学科综合的理论研究,通过一条生态建设的途径,采取系统工程的技术手段,实现现代林业在思想、理论、方法、手段上的统一。结合中国林业发展的实践,总结具有中国特色现代林业是当务之急。

This paper shows that to develop the concept of forestry, especially the modern forestry concept is more important for forestry development. With its own background,forestry has passed three stages：traditional, classical and modern forestry in the world.
