Experimental investigation of catalytic combustion is presented in a platinum micro combustor, compared to the micro combustor of silicon carbide under the same testing conditions. The effects of three major parameters on combustion was studied namely flow rate, hydrogen to oxygen mixing ratio and the size of the combustor. The results show that the temperatures along the wall of the platinum micro combustor is much higher than that of the non-catalytic SiC micro combustor, the temperature distribution more uniform.
