Chalcone synthase (CHS) and chalcone isomerase (CHI) are the key enzymes controlling the biosynthesis of flavonoid, for CHS can catalyze its substrate into naringenin-chalcone, which will sequentially be isomerized into flavonoid compounds by CHI.
